Kor Earb is a mother of twin boys. She is 24 years old and she lives in Pongror Village, Namtao Commune, Phnom Srok District, Banteay Meanchey Province. Earb was registered as a member of the program in November 2016. Earb has attended all the health education class that IC conducted. She had regular prenatal checkup at Namtao health center and followed what IC midwife has educated her. Through the regular prenatal checkup, she was told that she was pregnant with twins and she needed to have the delivery at the provincial hospital.
In May 2017, Earb was in labor ad she went to Siem Reap Hospital as she was in labor as she was told by the midwife at Namtao Health Center. She stayed at the hospital for a week until she gave birth to the premature twin boys through cesarean. The babies were born one month before the due date. Under the attention of the doctors, the mother and babies were safe.
Earb has Tuberculosis and she is receiving treatment everyday, causing her babies could not be breastfed. The babies need to be fed with the formular milk. On 30th, May 2017, Earb brought her babies to have health monitoring at Namtao Health Center which was conducted by IMPACT-Cambodia. As a result of health monitoring, we have seen that Ratana was underweight (the younger baby). His weight was 3.9kg and his height was 0.70cm.
On 12th June 2017, IC team went to Earbs house to provide her the nutritious milk for feeding Ratana and by the third week of July, the team went again for the monitoring and could see that Ratana health has improved after using the nutritious milk that IC had provided.
Earb and her family were very thankful for the help from IMPACT-Cambodia. She said:
I am very happy that IC provide me the nutritious milk. I am very lucky that I was registered as one of the members of 1000 Day Program. I want all pregnant women in this village to register as member too.
